2025-2026 Season schedule coming soon!

New Dance Families Information- Our 2025-2026 will be available soon.

Check out our summer class page.  Summer classes are short and sweet and give a great insight to our teaching style and studio culture.

. The 2025-2026 Dance Season will be 34 weeks in length. 

Classes will run mid September 2025 through the beginning of June 2026 with scheduled breaks for Holidays and Spring Break.

Classes will meet each week with an opportunity for a fantastic full studio performance opportunity “Student Dance Showcase 2026” at the conclusion of our season.  Tentative start date of our full season classes will be Monday September 15th, 2025

New student registration will begin in early August 2025. A $30.00 new student registration fee will be applied to your new dance family accounts once you register in August and is due to reserve your spot for the 2025-2026 dance season. This payment is per family, not per dancer and is a ONE time feature.

No Registration Fees until you have pre registered for a class. If you would like to pay the $30.00 pre-registration deposit by check (made to Spotlight), it can be mailed to Spotlight Dance Academy, 115 3rd street, Spring Lake MI 49456.  Checks and cash can also be placed in our secure drop box located next to the front door.  Please place the DANCERS NAME on the envelope. 

SDA will have certain days and times available in early September to meet with our new dance families to prepare for the upcoming season.  Our studio calendar, student dance showcase information and full 34 week session information will be available during these scheduled times.  More information regarding these appointment times will be emailed to you within one week of registration.

Tuesday-Thursday 2:00-6:00 pm
Friday-Sunday Closed

 

Messages and emails that are received Monday-Thursday by noon will be returned within 36 hours.  

Messages and emails received Friday through Sunday will be returned the following week.

 Spotlight Dance Academy has been here for West Michigan area youth for over two decades. We were here yesterday, we are here today, and we will be here tomorrow for your children. So, whether you are taking your first class or preparing for your senior year, we say “Welcome Home!” At SDA, you are family.

Dance meets imperative student needs for community, socialization, friendship, mentoring, physical activity, and more! The benefits of dance include, but are not limited to: intellectual, academic, social-emotional, and physical support.

At SDA, the health and safety of our students, staff, guests, and communities have always been our highest priority. That ‘s why we have used local and national guidelines to inform our best practices for service in the coming season.

 

SDA DRESS CODE:

Studio dress code colors are Black, Pink, Gray, Burgundy and White. Having a cohesive dress code allows our staff to see all dancer’s movements clearly and keeps competition, peer/pressure out of the studio.

Girls Pre I – 7 & 8
Pink, black, gray, or burgundy leotard (any style) Short skirts and tutus are allowed
Ballet pink matte tights Pink leather or canvas ballet shoes
Black patent leather tap shoes with elastic tap ties
Hair securely off face. No large jewelry.

BOYS all levels:
T-shirt in studio colors
Sweatpants or Shorts in studio colors
Male ballet, jazz, and tap shoes are black

Girls Beginning – Advanced
Ballet: Pink, black, gray, or burgundy leotard; short skirts are allowed; pink leather or canvas ballet shoes; ballet pink matte tights Tap: Black lace-up tap shoes
Jazz: Tan jazz shoes
Lyrical: Ballet shoes or barefoot
Hip Hop: Clean tennis shoes, dancers may wear a tank top/t-shirt & shorts, sweatpants, or leggings
Hair securely off face. No large jewelry
Dancers participating in a Jazz, Tap, or Hip Hop class only are not required to wear a leotard but must follow dress code colors. Dancers in more than one class will not have time to change tights.
Support undergarments must be worn if needed (preferably in studio dress code colors)

You may be added to a waitlist but this does not guarantee enrollment.
