CLASS DESCRIPTIONS- Beginning Level Workshop, Beginning Jumps and Turns NO previous Experience
Beginning Dance Workshop- Give it a try! Three day Workshop for the dancer with little to no experience or the trained dancer wanting to try a new discipline of dance. This one hour, 3 day workshop Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical and more. Summer classes are a must for any aspiring dancer and are structured to be challenging as well as rewarding. Ages 8+
July 19-21 Beginning Ballet/Jazz/Tap/Hip Hop/Lyrical 6:00-7:00pm
July 19-21 Beg/Int Tap 7:00-7:30 $36.00 for workshop
July 19- 21 Beg Jumps and Turns 7:30-8:00 $36.00 for workshop
Tap crash Course July 26-28 6:15-7:00 $48.00 per Session

Beginning/ Intermediate Level Classes
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS- Years of Experience pertains to at least 45 minute to 1 hour continuous training at the studio.
BALLET
Beg/Int Ballet – Ages 9 & up; 1-4 years of experience
MUSICAL THEATER
Beg/Int – Ages 9 & up; no experience necessary
JAZZ
Beg/Int Jazz – Ages 9 & up; 1-3 years of experience
TAP
Beg/Int Tap – Age 9 & up; 1-3 years of experience
LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY
Beg/Int Lyrical – Ages 9 & up; no experience necessary
HIP HOP
Beg/Int – Age 9 & up; no experience necessary
Beg/Int Ballet & Lyrical Clinic-Why, when, who, what, and how: Everything you need to know about Ballet for three days! Fundamental exercises of ballet introduced while maintaining an emphasis on musicality, development of overall body strength, alignment, and the joy of moving. Our Beg/Int Ballet Clinic will provide education on popular ballet stories, set and costume design, music study and choreography, and the breakdown of French Ballet terminology. This class will also include Lyrical and Contemporary Work.
July 12-14 Int Ballet/Lyrical 5:45-6:45pm $62.00
Beg/Int Jazz Clinic -This fun 3 day class combines upbeat, stylized movement with proper technique. Jazz dance is based on ballet principles with each class consisting of a warm-up using isolated movements, across the floor progressions, and current choreography all set to age appropriate music. Some Commercial dance will be explored.

Beginning/Intermediate Tap
If your Broadway dreams include improving and refining your tap skills, the SDA Tap Jam is the place for you! Our program has been curated to connect the past to the present and delve into the future of this art form. Classes include tap fundamentals and historic forms, contemporary techniques, and the cutting-edge new styles.
Sam Farrar brings more than 20 years of dance instruction and choreography experience, 7 of those with SDA. Classes are designed to perfect tap technique, and expand the student’s knowledge of tap repertoire. An improvisation portion of class will encourage students to experiment with their own movement.
The SDA Tap Jam is designed to give the curious tap student the full picture of what tap was and has evolved into in the 21st century. Join us this summer!

Summer 2023 Tuition Policies
Beg./Int. Drop In Classes
Spotlight Dance Academy offers a summer study program as an opportunity for our students to continue to study dance over the summer months and grow as artists.
Our drop in class series is for dancers looking to greatly elevate their dance education. This series will include techniques of contemporary, improv, hip hop, jazz, tap, musical theater, and specialty training for developing artists. Dancers will explore new ideas of movement and artistic excellence, harvesting a love of dance within versatility. Each dancer is immersed in the various forms of dance to create the ideal well rounded dancer. Dancers will be challenged technically and artistically through a wide variety of classes taught by the SDA faculty and Guest Artists
Drop in classes allow for flexibility in busy summer scheduling, and choice of discipline. Take some, or Take all. New class material is taught in each class.
Please note the Beg/Int level class program is not appropriate for absolute beginners. A basic dance vocabulary and comfort with movement and critical instruction is expected. Students new to dance are encouraged to sign-up for the beginner series, a dance fundamentals class included in our Beginning Level Workshop .
